Stephen Boucher is the founder and manager of Smarter Together (a charity advocating collective intelligence for smarter democracies) as well as CEO of Dreamocracy, a public-interest consultancy that promotes “collective creativity for the common good”. He is the author of the “Little Handbook for Political Creativity” and coordinator of “The Routledge Handbook of Collective Intelligence for Democracy and Governance”. His background includes serving as Managing Director of Foundation Euractiv, Program Director for EU climate policies at the European Climate Foundation, as well as European and International Affairs Advisor for the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister. He has been involved in several democratic innovations. As co-director of the Jacques Delors Institute, he organised the first-ever EU-wide citizens assembly. With Dreamocracy, he ran the first Deliberative Committee of Wallonia’s Parliament. In this Briefing, he guides you through applying creative thinking, tools and methods to political problems – creating more effective (and legitimate) solutions with greater engagement. Together you’ll look at the resources available, dive into real-world examples and explore your own challenges, to start applying creativity where it is needed most.
